Hurricane Sandy hit the Eastern United States at the end of October 2012 and it’s estimated that it did 20 billion dollars in damage. When the storm surge came ashore in New York it flooded streets, tunnels, subway lines and cut power to businesses and homes. Many interesting images have been taken in and around New York following the hurricane like the one below. What are your thoughts, ideas or any questions that you might have? Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment.
I think that it’s sad for the people who live there. I hope nobody got hurt.
A very thoughtful comment, Hayden.
thats a lot of water
Why are all the cars orange?
Hi Matthew,
Orange is the colour of taxi’s. I think this image shows a flooded parking lot of taxicabs.
How many taxis and people got flooded?
It is a very sad but also an interesting picture.
were there people in the taxi’s
That was a very cool picture. At first, I thought they were toy cars, but then I noticed that they were actually taxis. That is a little bit scary.
That is a lot of taxis. I hope nobody was in any of the taxis.
What caused the
hurricane?
