Mars Rover – Perserverance

On Thursday February 18th we watched the Mars Rover – Perserverance land on the red planet at 12:55 p.m. It left Earth on July 30, 2020 and it took nearly seven months to reach the planet Mars. The rover landed in the Jezero Crater which scientists believe was once flooded with water and was home to an ancient river delta. The rover has a small helicopter ( like a drone ) attached to its belly and they will be trying to fly it in the thin Martian atmosphere. The purpose of the mission is to search for signs of ancient microbial life and will also test technologies to help pave the way for future human exploration of Mars.
